This book was recommended by a friend who is a Trump supporter to help broaden my view; in that sense it did and I recommend it. Before I purchased this recommended book, I checked to see if I was unintentionally supporting someone convicted of a crime (not the case) and also read some of the 5 star and 1 star reviews. The 1-star reviews (worth reading) seemed to be concerned that the book was a bit self-serving. There is truth to that, but if you and a co-author are writing a book, it seems like a logical spot to say nice things about yourself and your co-author so that did not bother this reviewer. One example was working 20 hour days for months on end or equivalent boasts. OK, fine. I was reminded of how little I know about political campaigns and how much big money allows one to do things and how much free advertising can help, too. This book, intentionally or not points out some mistakes that the Democrats never seem to have caught on to; all including Democrats or liberals, IMHO, would do well to read this book and ignore the boasting, the luck and fate and see that there is a main stream America waiting to be "seduced" by populist candidates. In any event, if you can get over the self-serving stuff (fake or not), it is a useful perspective.
Great book. I thought it would be a plodding read but I was wrong. I couldn't put it down (not a joke). It is exciting to see how the campaign came from behind to win the election. DJT is one hard working person who won't back down. I am buying another copy to send to a friend. It gives you a great insight into the campaign and how hard everyone worked to win the election. The campaign had a lot of ups and downs and it is interesting how the downs were handled. Also a great insight into the personalities of everyone. I recommend it.

But some of the best insights are about the themes which helped Trump win.The campaign began with a skeleton team which featured mostly political neophytes. While the establishment Republicans, Democrats, and media all dismissed the campaign, Lewandowski explains that "they never saw us coming." Trump appealed to the masses because he is a "blue-collar billionaire." His preference for Big-Macs, milkshakes, and Elton John certifies that.Early on it became evident that Trump does not back down. When the McCain incident blew up the media pronounced the campaign dead but Trump did not back down and his popularity grew. This routine was repeated countless times as the media kept creating new crises. Trump ended up winning the GOP nomination with the most primary and caucus votes of any Republican in history. All of this was done on a shoestring budget.Once the campaign for the general election began one of the most important things was how the candidates made the public feel. Trump was visceral in making people feel good about being in a country that wanted to be great again. Meanwhile Hillary was not only cold and calculating but constantly pushed the negative emotions of outrage and victimization.Trump created memorable terms such as "build the wall" and "drain the swamp" as well as his official slogan "Make America Great Again." Hillary's main contribution was the term "deplorables" which Trump supporters were happy to adopt. Trump ran a dynamic campaign and had no problem making personnel changes. Mostly bad language and not much real information. Actually a bad rap for the president. President Trump is so open about himself that you'll get as much information about him by just listening to what he says! IMO.
