The author, Doyle Shuler, is head of Multiple Streams Marketing and has a website. In the description he offers a free book. That should have been my first warning. I should have got the free book first. If you are interested in this book I would suggest reading his free book at his website before you make a purchasing decision. Basically, he is trying to get you to sign up for a club that costs $250 so you can have the privilege of buying gold and silver at dealer cost.What kind of gold and silver? Mostly bullion and American Eagle coins. Here's a tip: there are multiple places you can buy coins and bullion for only 1-2% over market price. This is a good deal as an investment as the idea is to buy and hold. And when you deal with gold and silver when you go to sell you will still be able to get that same 1-2% fee(or more) back(that's how an investment is supposed to work right, buy low sell high?). There are many public sites with one of the best being Bullion Direct. You can even buy coins from the mint, so you don't really need a secret source to buy physical gold and silver.So, that being said let's talk about the guide to storing your metal. Perhaps I was mislead. I thought this book was going to talk about buying physical gold as an investment. Right off the bat, Mr. Shuler states that he doesn't personally buy physical gold? So I have to wonder why he is writing a book on it? However, he does state that he has a "large arsenal" to protect such gold that he doesn't own. I did laugh at that comment.After the marketing hype intro to get you excited about storing your gold, he spends a good deal talking about WHY you should buy physical gold. I think most people know why they want to store physical gold. He gives you the obvious things you could figure out on your own.In Chapter 3 he discusses where to buy direct dealer prices. I feel that he is just trying to get you to buy a membership to a club that supposedly sells to you at wholesale prices. Which, if he doesn't buy the gold himself makes me wonder about the validity of his source. To push this he actually doesn't even tell you, but directs you to his website, which makes me again question the book's validity.After Chapter 3 the rest of the book covers storing your physical gold, quite literally. It's another thing that I wonder if there are people out there that are so paranoid that they need an expert to tell them to buy a safe, use a bank vault, or stuff it into a secret compartment in a hollowed out book or food storage can (not joking, it's in there). I do give him a point for the funny picture in there.Despite my criticisms I do try to look for the good. There are some ingenius ways to hide your gold such as freezing it.I only worry about some of his methods hurting the condition of the gold or silver, such as silver oxidation which could actually reduce a coins value. He also talks about burying your gold and decoys.If you want serious storage security for your gold, ie you buy a ton of it and need off premise storage he does give real places that will do this for you (for a fee), which some investors may need. He also covers buying physical assets in a 401k(oh wait, I think that's in the free book).So in conclusion, if you need to know how to store your gold, this is the book for you. If you are looking at how and where to buy gold there are better books out there like Buy And Sell Gold or Buy Gold and Silver Safely.
Meh....I wouldn't say burying your gold in your backyard and drawing a treasure map for it is an "industry secret" but this is one of the suggestions in this book. The author also devotes a couple chapters to buying your gold and silver through an multi level marketing type deal. HOWEVER, there is some value in this book. I did like the suggestion of freezing your gold in ice in the freezer. Overall, there are no "secrets" in this book, most of it is common sense but the author does put it all in one place which is nice. Two of my favorite books on the topic of gold and silver investing (which also include enough storage information to safely store and protect your gold and silver) are:Stack Silver Get Gold - How to Buy Gold and Silver Bullion without Getting Ripped Off!andRich Dad's Advisors: Guide to Investing In Gold and Silver: Protect Your Financial Future
It has useful information on the various ways one can store their precious metals (apart from the most obvious place, a bank vault) so I would say that I am happy with it. The author is obviously very experienced in sharing the places where one can store their gold and silver, and he does gives the pros and cons of doing it. I would recommend the book for the beginner who wants to get ideas on where to store their metals.
This was an OUTSTANDING book to get a new or want-to-be precious metals investors knowledgeable of how to communicate your knowledge and the follow-through issue as you must research and understand such as, what types you sound diversify into and how you need to think through where and how you should store your precious metals.
The book is short, but full of interesting information and clever ideas about storing your precious metals collection. That's about it though; just ideas on hiding or setting up storage offsite.

Quick read. It had some good information but still impressed me as an infomercial for his products. The best reminder that came from this book is the concept that "we are only limited by our imagination".
You can use the information in here but I always prefer things straight to the subject matter and not those wandering around. Call it a personal preference but this book is just average.
