This was an epic love story that is one of my top 10 books of all time. It was one of the best read of a reformed rake (man-whore to the 10th degree). It is part of a series but can be read stand alone.********CAUTION POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD> PLEASE STOP NOW IF YOU DON"T WANT READ ANY SPOILERS>THANKS**********Heroine has been physically and emotionally abused by her mother's family almost all her life. She has also bullied because she was shy and had stutter. She was considered Wallflower and avoided by many because of the bad reputation she was given. As for her mother's family they raised her at the insistence of her father, after her mother died. Heroine's father owns a gentlemen's club that does unsavory things and no place for little girl to be raised. Unfortunately, her father is also neglectful as he never really put much attention to her but he did love her. So when she finds out he is dying and her mother's family refuse to allow her to visit him she makes plan to escape. If not she will probably end of dead, as they are keeping her locked up and refusing to feed her until she agrees to marry her cousin. She makes a plan to marry the hero after finding out he tried kidnap her friend for her money. Realizes she can try to make a deal with the hero to provide him with money he needs and she gets protection from her family, nice allowance to live her life in the country safely and time with her father before he dies. She makes bold move to visit him at his home where she propose the deal. He agrees and off they go do get married.Instantly changes are seen in the hero that where uncharacteristic of him. It is like his dormant protective and caring instincts have been awoken by the heroine. As much as he has a sharp tongue his actions are very different. He does everything in his powers to ensure she is safe, comfortable and well cared for. He does everything her promised, but the heroine has many enemies that want her money or dead. Only the hero stands in the way of those that want to harm her. This story is very romantic and safe. You have heroine that has been beaten down, ridiculed and shy. However, she had an inner strength that the hero appreciated and loved about her. The climax scene was very touching. I loved how the hero lays down his life for her. I loved how he saves her countless times form her family and any that he felt threatened to take her.The dialogue was brilliant and the story line well written. It is a safe read. There are no OW or OM from the second hero meets heroine. He loves everything about her. The more he falls in love with her the more devoted he is. It was so sweet how he loved to be near her, have her touch him with soft caresses, courts her, sweet talks to her and the last love scene was soooo romantic. He worshipped her body is all I am saying. The ending was so sweet. Hero really opened up and you got to see why he was the way he was. He has gone through so much loss that he was afraid to love and really just wanted the love of a good woman. There is no cheating. Hero is heroine's first. Love scenes were beautiful written. Hero turns from rake to devoted husband. The humor was great. Best dialogue I have read. Very witty and charming. Highly recommend this read.

I really loved this story. It is the third in "the Wallflowers" series but it is fine as a stand alone. I have not read any other of the books in this particular series. The hero in this story, Lord St. Vincent, was the bad guy in one of the previous books in the series and in that book had kidnapped one of the four young ladies to elope to Scotland. He was desperate to marry a rich wife due to his father's estate being nearly bankrupt. The girl he chose just happened to be his best friend's fiancé. There are hints that his friend may have been opposed to being married so perhaps St. Vincent felt he wasn't actually doing anything that would hurt his relationship with his best friend, but the friend stopped the kidnapping and beat St. Vincent quite badly and proceeded to marry the girl.*********Warning, May Be Spoilers Ahead******************************At the start of this book St. Vincent is at home recuperating from the beating when one of the Wallflowers comes to his house insisting to talk to him. He recognizes her as Miss Evangeline Jenner, the painfully shy girl with a terrible stammer. She is so shy she has never been able to carry on a meaningful conversation with any man at the many balls and events she has attended. He is shocked to learn that she wants a marriage of convenience, in name only, with him even though he has a terrible reputation as a rake. She is desperate to hide from her guardians who have treated her abominably and she will soon come into money when she reaches the age of majority. She knows of St. Vincent's need for money and is willing to give him a large share of her money and let him continue to live the life of debauchery in exchange for his name to protect her from her aunts and uncles. If he does not help her she is afraid they will force her to marry her cousin and suspects she will be murdered soon after so they will have access to her fortune.St. Vincent agrees this may be the answer to both his and her problems. So they immediately leave for Scotland where they can be married. They drive straight through at the fastest speed the horses can carry their carriage stopping only to change horses and take bathroom breaks, always looking over their shoulder for any sign of her relatives pursuing them. That is only the start of their adventures. Lily's scandalous father runs a gambling parlor and he is dying of consumption. She arrives to take care of him when he is at his deathbed. St. Vincent is afraid she will be harmed at the rundown establishment so he goes with her and ends up running the place. He is so successful at pulling the place out of ruination the ton attends in droves. But not all the staff are glad to have a member of the aristocracy running the place and some blame Evie for him being there, and her life is in danger. There are quite a few explicit scenes of marital sexual activity, but they are well written and very loving. I think the story would have been as good without them and I skimmed over most of them. This is definitely an “R” rated book. The story is well written, good editing, and had appropriate word use. I would give it 4 stars because of all the sex scenes, but I loved the story so much I’ll pretend they aren’t there and give it 5 stars.

This is the third book in this series, and it was amazing! It can be considered a standalone, but reading the previous ones definitely helps to appreciate the full character development for these two. This story focuses on Evie and Sebastian. They're an unlikely pair as ever found, but there is just enough stubborn independence in Evie to make her capable of bringing it all together. She is a patient, quiet woman with a steel will and is tired of being hurt by her family. Sebastian is a desperate, charming, charismatic, seemingly selfish and heartless rake. He has fallen to his greatest depth, and when he agrees to a marriage of convenience with Evie, he shows every part of him, good and bad, as he tries to get enough money to survive. He's always had a way with women, and being able to charm anyone, able to see other's needs, and it was only the start of what he did for Evie. The two fought, enjoyed heated moments, and learned to worry and care for one another in such a way that you can't help but like them both, but especially Sebastian after seeing what he used to be. Their connection was odd and powerful at first, and grew into something much deeper and more satisfying with time.Overall, I really loved this book! This story had a fantastic bit of romance, a great redemption story, more bits of friendship that were lovely to see expanded, and two developed characters. The story was engaging and flowed well, and was edited well. I recommend this book, as well as the whole series!
