Los protagonistas son dos pingüinos, uno pequeño y uno más grande. El autor jamás indica si hay parentesco, ni distingue género de ninguno de los pingüinos, eso es parte por lo que es muy bueno, ya que el libro puede ser leÃdo por abuelos, padres, padres adoptivos, tutores, etc, sin importar la relación que guarden y sentirse totalmente reflejado. No hay una historia realmente, sólo declaraciones de las cosas que les gusta hacer y las oraciones pueden ser dichas por el pingüino más jóven o el más grande y al leerlo por ello te sientes identificado.Los gráficos son muy sencillos y los colores contrastantes y vibrantes, perfectos para atraer a los más chiquitos. A mi hijo de un año le gusta mucho tocar las páginas del libro mientras le leo.Al leerlo piensas todas las cosas simples pero que hacen tan especial la relación. Un libro para ser leÃdo muchas veces. He notado que tengo tres libros traducidos por F. Isabel Campoy y en dos de ellos hace trabajo conjunto con Alma Flor Ada, y en todos ellos me gusta mucho el trabajo de traducción que realizan porque conservan la fluÃdez del texto que el autor le dio en el idioma original.Los libros con texto bilingüe nos encantanen casa porque lo pueden leer los nativosdel idioma inglés como es mi esposo y yo en idioma en español a mi hijo más pequeño.
My daughter (5) and I love this book! It's a cute little book about a baby and mommy penguin and all the things that they like doing together. I bought it to get my daughter more comfortable with Spanish. She's attending a Spanish Immersion school and was a little nervous at the beginning of the school year. I wanted a book that not only was interesting to look at, but had simple enough words that she could understand, and used repitition so that she'd remember the words and phrases. It also helped that the Spanish is simple enough that I can read it pretty easily -- I speak very basic Spanish, so I'm not good reading more complicated books. :) "Me gusta cuando" is a great phrase to learn -- very useful. We really enjoy reading this book together.
Bilingual board books are not easy to find. This one is great as it has a story and it’s not only a picture with a word. Good translation too
As parents who want our children to learn different languages this book is a great start. The flow of words and examples used are natural. I like the repetition of phrases.
Got this book for my 3 yr old nephew! Best purchase ever, he absolutely loves when I read it to him and loves to act out every action... I like it when you hold my hand, hug me tight, tickle me, etcThe translation is perfect! Definitely one of his favorite books!!
My 21 month old LOVES this story. Every night she pulls out the book regardless of Mommy, who reads it in Spanish, or Daddy, who reads it in English. I struggle with finding good bilingual books that has accurate Spanish translation and this book is spot on.
We love bilingual books but for some reason my daughter hasn't gotten into this one. I'm going to give it another shot and will update.
This book arrived in perfect shape, and is really cute. Our baby is only is month old but he likes listening to stories and was smiling and happy after my husband read it to him. Maybe I could learn from it too
